Do user accounts created for Kurzweil 3000 Web License and firefly integrate with Active Directory/LDAP/CAS or Shiboleth?

We do not currently have plans to integrate the firefly rostering system into the above systems, however we are looking into other possibilities to accommodate an easier rostering process.

Username/password credentials to access the Kurzweil 3000 Web License software and firefly are managed through a secure HTTPS web portal. Usernames are generated by the firefly website when an account is created, based on an algorithm that uses the first and last name of the user. For example, a user John Carpenter may receive the username johncarpenter2. Usernames may be edited after creation if needed.

If you own a site or district license of Kurzweil 3000 Web License with firefly, we offer a free user import service for accounts that qualify (a.k.a. rostering service), this allows you to avoid the manual creation of users within the firefly user management system. However, just like the website UM, usernames created through an import are automatically generated and cannot be specified beforehand at this time. If you have a firefly account and are interested in the rostering serivce please email fireflyroster@kurzweiledu.com for more information.

To describe the normal login process as an end user, the end user logs into his computer using his Windows/Mac or domain login, launches the Kurzweil 3000 software application (most likely through a schortcut on the desktop) or the firefly iPad or web portal site and is provided a prompt asking for the aforementioned Kurzweil 3000-firefly username/password.
